Viene rivelato che l'allarme è scattato a causa del {{TRT}}, che ha rubato i Fossili della Palestra. Ferruccio e Pedro fanno squadra ed ordina a Bastiodon e Rampardos di attaccare il [[Arsenale del Team Rocket|robot]] che i cattivi stanno usando, ma senza fare alcun danno. {{MTR}} inizia a lanciare zolle di terra verso di loro, costringendoli a ritirarsi. Bastiodon si para davanti ed assorbe gli attacchi, permettendo a Rampardos di colpire l'automa. Spaventati di non poter resistere oltre, il Team Rocket prova a scappare, ma vengono colpiti da Bastiodon e Rampardos: il colpo crea un'apertura che permette al [[Pikachu di Ash]] di usare [[Fulmine]], distruggendo il robot.

In ''[[DP108|Dealing With Defensive Types!]]'', Bastiodon is used as Byron's last Pokémon in his Gym battle against {{Ash}}, fighting against his {{TP|Ash|Chimchar}}. Wanting to end the battle quickly Ash has Chimchar use Flamethrower. Bastiodon stands its ground and uses Iron Defense to handle the attack and then uses Metal Burst to send the damage back, knocking Chimchar out. It next faces his {{TP|Ash|Gliscor}}, who starts the battle with {{m|Steel Wing}} from behind, which Bastiodon counters with Iron Defense. It then tries {{m|Fire Fang}}, only to be countered by Flash Cannon. While recovering Bastiodon goes on the offense and strikes with Iron Head multiple times. In ''[[DP108|Trattare con chi sta sulla difensiva!]]'', Bastiodon viene usato come ultimo Pokémon di Ferruccio nella sua lotta in [[Palestra]] contro {{Ash}}, affrontando il suo {{TP|Ash|Chimchar|Infernape}}. Volendo porre fine all'incontro velocemente, Ash ordina a [[Chimchar]] di usare Lanciafiamme: Bastiodon si fissa al terreno ed usa Ferroscudo per resistere prima di contrattaccare con [[Metalscoppio]], sconfiggendo l'avversario. Affronta quindi {{TP|Ash|Gliscor}}, che inizia l'incontro con [[Alacciaio]] da dietro, ma Bastiodon lo contrasta con Ferroscudo. Utilizza poi Cannonflash per bloccare un [[Rogodenti]]. Mentre recupera, Bastiodon passa all'offensiva e colpisce [[Gliscor]] con diverse Metaltestata: anche se indebolito, il Pokémon di Ash si avvicina abbastanza a Bastiodon per afferrarlo da dietro, potendo così colpirlo ripetutamente con Rogodenti. Bastiodon se lo scrolla di dosso ed attacca con Cannonflash, ma fallisce quando Gliscor utilizza la propria coda per colpirlo. Il Pokémon di Ferruccio cerca di colpire l'avversario con Metaltestata, ma alla fine viene sconfitto dopo che Gliscor lo ha sorpreso da dietro ed ha utilizzato Rogodenti.

Like most of its species, Bastiodon is incredibly defensive, able to withstand many attacks, even having the upper hand in battle against Rampardos, a highly offensive Pokémon. It is Byron's favorite Fossil Pokémon and as a result is his most trusted teammate.
