La forte ossessione di Samina per le Ultracreature l'ha portata a farle perdere temporaneamente la ragione. Quando [[Vicio]] richiama Nihilego, la mente Samina regredisce fino a quella di un bambino viziato. In questo stato, Samina arriva a definire le Ultracreature come oggetti di sua proprietà ed attacca violentemente chiunque ritenga che stia tentando di portargliele via. Tuttavia, Samina torna in sé grazie alla sua forte volontà ed alla voce di Lylia. Dopo essere stata salvata, Samina inizia ad avere un approccio migliore con le Ultracreature e fonda gli [[Ultraprotettori]] per riportare questi Pokémon nei loro mondi.
