Skitty fa il suo debutto in ''[[AG047|Aromaterapia]]'' quando [[Blaziken di Vera|Torchic]] si allontana durante una sessione di allenamento e incontra Skitty, che

Nell'[[AG048|episodio successivo]], Skitty esce da sola dalla sua Poké Ball per un capriccio, prima di scappare via da Vera, che la deve inseguire. Questa diventa una gag ricorrente, anche in ''[[AG049|Max uno e Max due!]]'', dove [[Max (AG049)|Max]] dice a [[Max (anime)|Max]] che Skitty è generalmente un Pokémon combinaguai e che ha bisogno di un Allenatore disciplinato. Lei riesce a malapena a prestare attenzione quando viene presentata agli altri Pokémon, ma riesce a tenere a distanza (non intenzionalmente) Jessie dal [[Surskit]] di Max mordendole i capelli. Usa poi {{m|Doppiasberla}} per sconfiggerla e permettere a Surskit e Pikachu di spedirla in orbita con i suoi compagni.
Vera riscopre il comportamento meschino e capriccioso di Skitty in ''[[AG053|Attacco Assistente, attacco vincente!]]'', dove disturba un gruppo di [[Slugma]], facendoli finire nei guai. Decide di insegnarle a lottare, scoprendo che conosce la mossa {{m|Assistente}} ma, nonostante evochi {{m|Braciere}} e {{m|Ventargenteo}}, viene sconfitta nel suo incontro di allenamento contro [[Julie]] ed il suo [[Furret]]. Skitty viene inoltre catturata assieme a Vera dal Team Rocket quando si mette ad inseguire il loro robot, dopo che hanno rapito tutti i [[Numel]] addormentati di Julie. Tuttavia, Skitty riesce a svegliarli con Braciere, tramite Assistente, per poi usare usare Doppiasberla per distruggere l'innaffiatore che il Team Rocket usa per sedarli. In ''[[AG060|Delcatty Got Your Tongue]]'', Skitty lost her voice in a battle with {{TRT}}. However, [[Dr. Abby]] managed to fix this problem with a simple massage. Abby had once been a {{pkmn|Coordinator}} who had gone on a journey with her Skitty, Johnny, but after he was wounded she became a doctor and evolved Skitty into {{p|Delcatty}}. Both were later stolen by Team Rocket, but broke free and turned on {{TP|Jessie|Seviper}} and {{TP|James|Cacnea}}. Dr. Abbey helped Skitty learn {{m|Blizzard}}, just like Johnny, who could also use {{m|SolarBeam}} and {{m|Thunderbolt}}. With Blizzard in her arsenal, Skitty helped send Team Rocket blasting off.
Skitty was used in the [[Verdanturf Town]] [[Pokémon Contest]] in ''[[AG062|Disguise Da Limit]]''. A failed Blizzard almost botched her opener, but she salvaged the round by juggling with DoubleSlap, a skill learned from Abby and Johnny, and this allowed her to move on with enough points. She then defeated [[Stefano]]'s {{p|Wartortle}} and moved further on in the tournament, eventually reaching the finals where she went up against [[Timmy Grimm]] and his {{p|Dusclops}}, but she had a tough time battling it due to the {{type|Normal}}-{{type|Ghost}} ineffectiveness, being only able to trust in her unpredictable Assist and unmastered Blizzard. Skitty was hit by a {{m|Focus Punch}}, but failed to attack with DoubleSlap due to the immunity. However, Skitty managed to deflect a follow-up Focus Punch with DoubleSlap, only to be damaged by a {{m|Will-O-Wisp}}/{{m|Psychic}} [[Contest combination|combination]]. Dusclops gained the upper hand with a series of {{m|Hyper Beam}}s whilst Skitty could not muster Blizzard to create opposition. Ultimately, Skitty used Assist to get {{m|Gust}} and defend herself from Hyper Beam. She then used an {{m|String Shot}} through Assist to block Focus Punch, and Ember to block Will-O-Wisp. Finally, Skitty pulled off Blizzard and knocked out Timmy's Dusclops, winning the tournament.
May also used Skitty in the [[Pacifidlog Town]] Contest in ''[[AG115|Mean With Envy]]'' and ''[[AG116|Pacifidlog Jam]]''. After using {{m|Razor Leaf}} Assist, Blizzard and DoubleSlap to pass the first round, Skitty fought [[Joshua]] and his {{p|Houndoom}} in the second round, where the two were evenly matched until an explosion caused by a {{m|Flamethrower}}/Blizzard knocked Houndoom out. In the final round, Skitty took a battering from [[Erica]]'s {{p|Jynx}} but managed to recover with a String Shot from Assist, which bound up Jynx. However, another Assist produced Razor Leaf to free Jynx, leaving her at Jynx's mercy. Subsequent Assists produced useless String Shots and Vine Whips, until it became {{m|Fire Spin}}, which directly hit Jynx. May then ordered Skitty to use Tackle, which ended the battle and won the Contest for May.

In the [[Grand Festival]] in ''[[AG122|Deceit and Assist]]'', [[Harley]] deceived May and told her to use only Assist. The judges soon became unimpressed as Skitty overused Assist and ended up confusing herself with {{m|Petal Dance}}. However, she saved the day by creating a magnificent ice sculpture with Blizzard and allowed May to move onto the battle round.
In ''[[AG123|Rhapsody in Drew]]'', Skitty and {{TP|May|Combusken}} fought against [[Drew's Roselia]] and {{p|Flygon}}, and began well by using an Assist Fire Spin to burn up Roselia's attacks. However, Combusken lost a bout with Flygon and fell on her, injuring her. Despite fighting back valiantly, they were unable to overcome the teamwork of Flygon and Roselia and Skitty was knocked out with Combusken.
After the [[Ever Grande Conference]], May left Skitty at her [[Petalburg Gym#In the anime|house]] because she liked the greenhouse there. May then returned Skitty briefly to her party in ''[[AG187|The Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing!]]''.
