Dragonite compare la prima volta in ''[[EP111|L'isola del drago]]'', dove lo si vede volare attorno all'isola. Successivamente, il {{TRT}} prova a rapirlo, ma viene spedito in orbita dal suo attacco {{m|Iper Raggio}}.

In ''[[EP112|Enter The Dragonite]]'', Drake used {{p|Dragonite}} in the battle against [[Ash Ketchum]]. It was shown to be a very strong battler. With its impressive speed and power, it was able to take out {{AP|Charizard}}, {{AP|Squirtle}} and {{AP|Tauros}}, although all three managed to land at least one blow on Dragonite before they fainted. Even though it fought three of Ash's Pokémon, it was still able to defeat Team Rocket when they tried another attempt at capturing it when it was tired out.
 
In ''[[EP112|Una grande vittoria]]'', Drake usa [[Dragonite]] nella sfida contro [[Ash Ketchum]]: è veramente potentissimo. Con la sua impressionante velocità e forza, riesce a sconfiggere {{AP|Charizard}}, {{AP|Squirtle}} e {{AP|Tauros}}, anche se i tre riescono ad assestare almeno un colpo a Dragonite prima di finire K.O.. Sebbene lotti contro tre Pokémon di Ash, riesce comunque a sconfiggere il Team Rocket quando provano a rapirlo di nuovo.
It then had to battle {{AP|Pikachu}} in the last round of the match. Despite being tired out from the previous battles, it managed to put up a good fight against {{p|Pikachu}}, but, after a fierce battle, it was defeated by Pikachu's use of a {{m|Thunder}} attack while positioned on Dragonite's head, and Ash became a champion of the [[Orange League]].
 
Lotta quindi contro {{AP|Pikachu}} nell'ultimo round del match. Anche se stanco per i precedenti incontri, lotta egregiamente contro [[Pikachu]] ma, dopo una fiera lotta, viene sconfitto dall'attacco {{m|Tuono}} mentre il suo avversario gli è aggrappato in testa, ed Ash diventa campione della [[Lega d'Orange]].
