Seven hundred years before the games' events, two nine-tier towers were built opposite each other in Ecruteak City. The towers were built to foster friendship and hope between Pokémon and people. The view from the top of the towers was said to be magnificent.
However, about 150 years before the games' events, a lightning bolt struck the western tower. It was engulfed in flames that raged for three days. A sudden downpour finally put out the blaze, but it had already burnt to the ground. Three nameless Pokémon perished in the fire, but Ho-Oh descended from the sky and resurrected them. La torre è apparsa nell'episodio ''[[EP227|I Campanelli Rubati]]'', dove è chiamata Torre di Latta come i giochi del tempo. Nonostante ciò, l'importanza dei campanelli è notevole in quanto la torre possiede quattro campanelli su ogni piano, che suonano solo se si stanno avvicinando Ho-Oh o Suicune. Inoltre, i campanelli all'ultimo piano sono in cristallo e suonano solo alla comparsa di Ho-Oh.
 
Nessuna delle torri è in relazione con [[Lugia]] in questa versione. Questa torre è stata inoltre costruita dopo che l'altra torre bruciò. Si dice che Ho-Oh apparisse di tempo in tempo alla vecchia torre come un segno di pace a pochi eletti che erano gli antenati di [[Angelo]]. Però, molte persone malvagie provarono a impossessarsi del suo potere, bruciando la torre nella lotta e obbligando Ho-Oh a fuggire dalla torre. La popolazione di Amarantopoli decise di costruire un'altra torre nella speranza che Ho-Oh ritornasse, cosa che non successe mai.
