<!--Nella [[Grotta Pietrosa]], {{LGA|Zaffiro}} prepares with [[Chic]] and [[RonoArma]] for her upcoming Gym battle. She has the two of them fight the wild [[Zubat]], [[Golbat]], [[Geodude]], and [[Graveler]] living in the cave. From their brief conversation earlier, Sapphire knows that if she fought [[Brawly]] as she is now, she'd lose the fight. She apologizes to [[Mr. Stone]] for not delivering the letter immediately, but since it's the only time she can fight Brawly, she has to finish tonight.
 
Later, Sapphire arrives at the [[Dewford Gym]], where she finds Brawly waiting for her inside. The two start their match, with Brawly sending out his [[Machop]]. The Machop is easily defeated by Chic, who has now evolved into a [[Combusken]]. Sapphire reveals that Rono has evolved into a [[Lairon]] and tells Brawly to send out his next Pokémon.
