Le '''Caratteristiche''' sono una funzionalità introdotta nei {{pkmn2|videogiochi}} di [[quarta generazione]] che può indicare quale [[Statistiche|statistica]] di un {{OBPOBo|Pokémonookémon|specie}} contiene i suoi più alti [[punti individuali]]. Viene mostrata sulla schermata Info del Pokémonookémon.
 
La Caratteristica di un Pokémonookémon viene determinata da ciò che rimane dividendo i suoi punti individuali più alti per 5, secondo un processo conosciuto come {{wp|operazione modulo}}.

È importante ricordare che, anche se un Pokémonookémon possiede una certa Caratteristica, non significa che questa indichi necessariamente i punti individuali più alti; ad esempio, un Pokémonookémon che "fa attenzione ai suoni" potrebbe avere 6 punti individuali nella statistica Velocità piuttosto che 31. Nel caso in cui una o più statistiche presentino lo stesso numero di punti individuali più alti, la Caratteristica del Pokémonookémon viene calcolata dal gioco eseguendo delle operazioni sul suo valore della [[personalità]].
