Alla ventesima lotta di una sfida normale o alla cinquantesima di una sfida super il giocatore deve sfidare un {{tc|Leggenda della lotta}}. La squadra di una Leggenda della lotta è formata scegliendo casualmente il numero di Pokémon adatto alla sfida da un insieme fatto apposta per lui. {{OBPga|Rosso|gioco}} è la Leggenda per le [[Lotta Pokémon|Lotte in Singolo]] e usa tre Pokémon, {{OBPga|Blu|gioco}} è la Leggenda di [[Lotta in doppioDoppio|quelle in Doppio]] e usa quattro Pokémon. Durante le [[Lotta Multipla|Lotte Multiple]] Rosso e Blu si alleano e sfidano insieme il giocatore e il suo compagno, usando due Pokémon a testa. Sconfiggendo le Leggende della Lotta i Pokémon utilizzati otterrano il Fiocco Asso dell'Albero o il Fiocco Genio dell'Albero per le lotte normaliNormali o superSuper rispettivamente.

Nelle Super Lotte, degli Allenatori speciali compaiono ogni 10 lotte. Per alcuni di essi viene riprodotto un particolare tema musicale durante la lotta. La loro squadra è casualmente selezionata da un gruppo di Pokémon specificamente preimpostato per ognuno di loro.

Ogni Pokémon ha [[natura]], [[punti individuali]] e [[punti base]] fissati, tuttavia il [[sesso]] e l'[[abilità]] sono casuali. Ogni allenatoreAllenatore usa da due2 a quattro4 Pokémon, a seconda del tipo di sfida.
===Compagni per le Lotte Multiple===
Nelle [[Lotta Multipla|Lotte Multiple]] e Super Lotte Multiple il giocatore può scegliere come compagno un suo amico o un allenatore controllato dall'IA. A differenza della [[Villa Lotta]] della generazione precedente c'è un solo compagno disponibile automaticamente, l'Allevapokémon Rosalba. Per aumentare il numero di compagni disponibili il giocatore deve sconfiggere degli allenatori nelle Lotte in Singolo o in Doppio. Dopo averli sconfitti è possibile Reclutarli al costo di 10 PL; così facendo l'allenatore reclutato viene aggiunto ai possibili compagni per le Lotte Multiple. I Pokémon che userà nelle lotte sono i primi due della squadra che aveva quando è stato reclutato. Non si possono reclutare le Leggende della Lotta.
