This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was released as part of a special expansion sheet available at the 7th Next Generation World Hobby Fair held in December 1997. The English version of the card was one of four possible cards that one could receive by buying a ticket to the theatrical release of ''[[M01|Mewtwo Strikes Back]]''.

 

*The character illustration is the same used on the Japanese Toyota promotional {{TCG ID|Toyota Auto|Pikachu|promo}}.

*As the Japanese version of this card was distributed as part of an expansion sheet, it, along with {{TCG ID|Wizards Promo|Mewtwo|12}} and {{TCG ID|WHF Special Sheet|Mew|promo}} are often regarded as unofficial additions to the {{TCG|Vending Machine cards}} collection, dubbed "Series 00".
